How to Avoid the WELCOME Screen

by Sinh
(Anaheim, California)

Q: Each time I run Photoshop Elements 8 the Welcome Screen always pops up first and I have to do a lot of things before I can get to the editor. How can I by-pass the Welcome Screen when I run Photoshop Elements 8.

A: You are not alone in finding this inconvenient Sinh.

If you're on a PC you can create a shortcut to bring you directly to the Editor.

Go to your C drive>Program Files>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 8.0. Right-click on PhotoshopElementsEditor and choose Create Shortcut.

Paste the Shortcut onto your desktop. Now to start Photoshop Elements just double-click on the shortcut and it will bring you right to the Editor.

If you're on a Mac it's very easy. There is a checkbox in the lower-right corner of the Welcome Screen that says Show at Startup. Just uncheck that box and you're done.
