How do I select more than one layer in Photoshop 7.0?

Q: How do I select more than one layer in Photoshop 7.0? I have tried pressing shift and the mouse and also ctrl and the mouse and alt and mouse! but nothing seems to work, please can anyone help?

Try (PC) Control J - That is Control + the letter J

Selecting layers

Hold down the ctrl and click on the layer you want to select
If it's all the layers well then click on the first one then before clicking on the last layer you want to select hold down the shift key and click that last layer now there all selected.
