Burnt Edges in Photoshop Elements
by Rick
Burnt edges add a nice effect to photos as shown here
Q: I received the following question on my twitter page:
@ps_elements Could you tell me how to create a burnt edge with PSE?
A: Here's a super-quick way if you have Photoshop Elements 6
or newer:
STEP 1.
Duplicate the Background Layer by pressing Control+J (Mac:Cmd+J).
STEP 2.
Go under the Filter menu and choose Correct Camera Distortion…
STEP 3.
When the Dialog box opens uncheck Show Grid near the bottom of box.
Under the Vignette area move the Amount slider to the left until you get the edge you like. That's all there is to it.
There are other ways to get a burnt edge effect that give you a bit more control. But if this gives you the look you want, it's a quick and easy way to go.
Readers: If any of you have a solution to this or any other problem you see posted here, please leave a comment.
Your participation and help is appreciated. I obviously don' t have all the answers :~/
